Environmental report 2010

You have before you the eighth edition of Z-ECO, in which Ziegler Paper Mill informs its external partners about its environmentally relevant activities and achievements in 2010.
During the year under review, the markets once more proved highly volatile. While we were scarcely able to meet demand for our products in the first six months, the situation tailed off in the last quarter.
Thanks to better utilisation of capacities than in the previous year, specific volumes of fresh water and wastewater returned to normal. We take pride in the progress we have achieved in the realm of work safety; as far as industrial accidents during the year were concerned, we had the lowest figures for our sector in all of Switzerland and by far outstripped our goals in this respect ...

Z-CO2 2011

Ziegler Paper Mill was certified by the EnAW for its CO2 reduction targets in 2010. The CO2 reduction measures implemented have been so successful that Ziegler Paper Mill is able to offer CO2-neutral paper from the quota of surplus CO2 credits it has built up.

On 1 April 2011 I star ted working as head of sales for Ziegler Paper Mill in Grellingen, an exciting personal step af ter a 13 year professional career to a family-held organisation of the machine and electrical industry. However, the intensive talks with the owners before making my decision to work for Ziegler Paper Mill - I was no paper specialist back then - encouraged me to do the right thing. Af ter my studies as an electrical engineer at the ETH (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) in Zurich, I held dif ferent marketing and sales positions in the polymer division of Ciba-Geigy in Basel and in the USA. ...
